Saving the Busuu Language Through the Power of Music

Busuu.com, the social language learning website, is named after the Busuu language, spoken in Cameroon by only 8 people!

Wanting to save the language from extinction, the founders of Busuu.com sent a film team to the Cameroon jungle last summer.

The result? Why a music video of course!

Very nice video, but it is a fake. You can not learn Busuu on busuu.com. Or any other "medium" or "small" language.

Plus, the "spoken by 8 people" was the outcome of a study in the 1980s, it is probably inaccurate today.

  3. John Fotheringham says:

I can't speak to the accuracy of the video as 1) I haven't been to that village, and 2) I don't speak Bussu. But you CAN learn at least a little Busuu on Busuu.com. The lesson is just a little buried on their site: http://www.busuu.com/savebusuu
