I heard about the big book deletion debacle. Pretty shady move on Amazon's part.
I, too, enjoy the look and feel of physical books, and still own (and continue buying) far too many of them! But as you said, ebooks just make language learning easier. This is especially true with Chinese, Japanese, and other ideographic languages. Back in the "old days" (you know, the late 1990s…), I used to spend hours looking up unknown Japanese words I came across in traditional books; now it takes mere seconds in an ebook. (Which just means more time for actual language learning!)
]]>Plus, a lot of people just really like the look, feel, and smell even of a traditional paper book, and I’m kind of one of them.
Will I likely buy an e-book reader in the future? Yes. Will I continue to buy paper books despite that? Yes.
Though I do agree it will make language-learning a lot easier.
Cheers,
Andrew
]]>Unfortunately, the cut and paste stuff doesn't work well on the Kindle with Japanese. It can't distinguish the beginning and ending of words.
