Children do have some advantages (e.g. being more open to new things, not being afraid to make mistakes, etc.) but adults have some serious tools at their disposal: 1) A massive vocabulary in their native tongue 2) Amazing powers of association, imaginative memory, etc. 3) The ability to find good materials, tutors, etc. Very true.

I've read once that it doesn't matter how old you are, especially when trying to learn a new language. In fact, you have an advantage over younger people because you've been through school and studying and studying, and all.
